120 Construction Workers Mobilised for a Mazovian Infrastructure Programme
The Challenge
A Polish contractor on a multi-package infrastructure programme around Warsaw needed 120 masons, formwork carpenters, steel fixers and finishing trades. Ukrainian labour, which had covered previous packages, was no longer available in the numbers required, and package start dates were contractual.
Our Approach
Crews were scoped by trade and programme phase rather than hired as one block, so finishing trades were not mobilised months before they could work. Trade tests ran at two centres in India with site managers reviewing video before interviews, and permits were filed in staged tranches at the Mazowieckie voivodeship office to spread the visa-appointment load.
The Results
- 120 workers across five trades, phased over four tranches
- Every package start date met
- Crews arrived with their own foremen, requiring no additional Polish supervision
- Contractor extended the arrangement to a second programme the following year
