Candidates compare Poland against the Gulf and against Germany, and they usually compare gross figures that are not comparable. Here are the 2026 bands by trade, what comes off them, and what is actually left.
Gross Monthly Bands by Role

- Mason, carpenter, steel fixer — PLN 5,000–6,800

- 6G pipe welder — top of the welding band and above
- Warehouse picker / packer — PLN 4,500–6,000
- Forklift operator (UDT certified) — PLN 5,200–6,800

Night, weekend and holiday supplements add meaningfully in three-shift operations — often 10 to 25 percent.
International Drivers Are Different
C+E drivers on international routes earn a base plus subsistence allowances that together commonly reach PLN 7,000–11,000 net per month depending on routes and nights away. The trade-off is time away from base and a licence-conversion period before solo driving — see C+E and Code 95.
From Gross to Net
Poland deducts employee social contributions and income tax from gross pay. As a rule of thumb, net pay lands around 70–73 percent of gross at these salary levels — rather more generous than Germany, where the same worker keeps closer to 65 percent.
On PLN 5,000 gross, expect roughly PLN 3,600–3,700 net. On PLN 7,000 gross, roughly PLN 5,000–5,100.
The employer additionally pays roughly 20 percent on top of your gross in contributions — that is their cost, not your deduction.
What the Deductions Buy
Public healthcare access, a state pension that accrues from your first month, disability and accident cover, and sickness benefit. Workers coming from the Gulf, where gross equals net and nothing accrues, should factor this in rather than treating it as pure loss.
Living Costs and Realistic Saving
Employer-arranged shared accommodation runs roughly PLN 600–1,400 per person per month depending on region — cheapest in Silesia and Łódź, highest in Warsaw. Food costs roughly PLN 800–1,200 if you cook. Transport is inexpensive, and often provided to site.
On PLN 5,000 gross with employer accommodation at PLN 900, a realistic monthly saving is PLN 1,500–2,000. On PLN 7,000 gross, PLN 2,500–3,200. See the cost-of-living breakdown.
Poland Compared
Against the Gulf, Poland pays more gross but costs more to live in, with the decisive differences being EU residence rights, family reunification and freedom to change employers. Against Germany, Poland pays less and costs less, deploys faster, and has a lower language barrier for English speakers.
Before You Sign
Your contract must state gross salary, working time and the position. Never accept a verbal figure, and check whether accommodation is provided or deducted. We place workers only under written contracts that meet Polish legal minimums — see live roles on the job board or the employer view on the Poland hiring page. Figures here are indicative market bands; your contract governs.
