The Work in UAE

Scaffolding in the UAE is heavily regulated: erecting, altering or dismantling access scaffolding requires a recognised scaffolder card, and inspection tags are checked before any trade is allowed on the structure. Work spans construction sites and industrial shutdowns in Ruwais and Jebel Ali. Employers value system-scaffold experience (Cuplock, Layher) alongside traditional tube-and-fitting.

Day-to-Day Duties

Erecting and dismantling tube-and-fitting and system scaffolds
Fitting guardrails, toe boards and access ladders to standard
Tagging scaffolds and supporting supervisor inspections
Working at height in full harness with 100% tie-off discipline
Loading and moving scaffold material around the site safely

Eligibility & Requirements

2+ years scaffolding experience
Working-at-height certification preferred
GAMCA medical clearance
Age 21–45

Do I need a scaffolding certificate?

A recognised card is strongly preferred and often mandatory. Employers may sponsor local certification, but existing training makes selection far easier.

Is this work only on construction sites?

No. A large share is industrial — refinery and plant shutdowns need scaffolding erected for access to vessels and pipework.

What safety training is provided?

Working-at-height and harness training is delivered on arrival, and 100% tie-off is enforced on UAE sites.
