About This Job

Hull welding and fitting work at Constanța shipyards. Marine experience preferred.

The Work in Romania

Romanian shipyards on the Black Sea coast and Danube build and repair hulls, barges and offshore structures. Marine welding differs from structural work: heavy plate, position welding inside confined hull sections, and welds subject to classification-society inspection. Certifications are re-verified before you start, and shipyard experience is weighted heavily in selection.

Day-to-Day Duties

Welding hull plate, bulkheads and structural sections
Working in confined spaces and awkward positions inside the hull
Fit-up and tacking with fitters before full welding runs
Welds inspected by classification-society surveyors
Grinding and repairing welds rejected at inspection

Who hires for this role: Shipyards and marine fabrication contractors at Constanța and along the Danube.

Eligibility & Requirements

3+ years welding experience, marine preferred
Certification re-verification required
Valid passport, clean record
Age 23–45

Strongly preferred. Shipyard employers test specifically for plate welding in position and confined-space competence.

EN ISO welding certification to the yard's procedure — your existing certificates are re-verified before deployment.
