Hire Indian Medical & Dental Assistants
Doctorsβ and dental practices are losing assistants faster than they can train them β Indian candidates with clinical-support backgrounds, German at practice level and a clear plan for the certificates German practices need.
The Front Desk and Chairside Gap
Medizinische Fachangestellte and Zahnmedizinische Fachangestellte keep German practices running: reception, appointments, billing, sterilisation, assisting at the chair and in treatment rooms. Both are dual-training occupations rather than regulated professions, which opens two routes for candidates from India β employment based on a comparable qualification and experience, or a full three-year Ausbildung in your practice.
Because the role is patient-facing, German matters more here than in most non-regulated jobs. We recruit candidates with Indian diplomas in dental hygiene, medical laboratory technology, operation-theatre technology or nursing-assistant training, test their clinical-support experience, and only file once their German supports a working day with patients.
Roles We Deploy
Why German Practices Recruit From India
- Indian paramedical diplomas build hands-on clinical-support skills that transfer to German practice routines
- Candidates who choose Ausbildung give a practice a fully German-qualified assistant at the end of three years
- Large group practices and MVZ can place an English-speaking assistant in back-office and lab work while German improves
- Long-term residence goals suit small practices that cannot afford to re-recruit every year
- We plan the certificates practices often need β such as radiation-protection knowledge for X-ray tasks β before day one
From Practice Requirement to Treatment Room
Experience route for candidates with a relevant two-year Indian qualification and experience; Ausbildung for school leavers or career changers.
Language to B1 at minimum, plus a practical check of hygiene, sterilisation and patient-support tasks.
Contract at the applicable tariff or customary practice wage; documents translated and the employer declaration aligned.
Hygiene plan, data protection, billing software and, where needed, the radiation-protection course arranged in the first months.
Pay, Conditions & Timeline
Assistants paid along the collective agreements for MFA and ZFA typically earn roughly β¬2,400β3,200 gross per month depending on experience grade and region; many practices pay at or above these scales to compete. Trainee pay follows the Ausbildung scale and must at least meet the statutory minimum training allowance.
Plan nine to fifteen months for experienced hires, mainly for German, and the full three years of training for the Ausbildung route. Practices commonly fund language, translations and the visa against a reasonable service commitment.
Figures are indicative market ranges and not a quotation; the signed service agreement governs. See our Terms & Conditions.
Employer FAQs
Is MFA or ZFA a regulated profession in Germany?
No. Both are recognised training occupations, not regulated professions, so a practice can employ a foreign assistant without formal recognition if the visa route conditions are met. Recognition through the medical or dental chamber is still useful for pay grading.
Can an Indian assistant take X-rays in a German dental practice?
Only with the required radiation-protection knowledge. German-trained ZFA acquire it in training; foreign hires usually complete a course after arrival before carrying out X-ray tasks under supervision.
Which German level is realistic?
B1 is the practical minimum for patient contact and B2 makes reception and phone work comfortable. We schedule departure around the level, not the other way round.
Is Ausbildung a good option for a small practice?
Often the best one. A trainee costs the training allowance, works in the practice throughout, and leaves training with a German qualification. The practice must be authorised to train, which most already are.
