Hire Indian Automotive Mechanics
Workshops have waiting lists while service bays stand empty — Indian motor-vehicle mechanics and technicians tested on diagnostics and repair before they fly, with EV high-voltage training planned on arrival.
Bays Empty, Customers Waiting
Kfz-Mechatroniker is one of Germany’s most popular apprenticeship trades, yet independent workshops, dealer service centres, fleet operators and tyre and fast-fit chains all report the same shortage. Electrification adds a second gap: vehicles with high-voltage systems may only be worked on by staff trained to the appropriate qualification level.
Indian mechanics from authorised dealer workshops, fleet depots and Gulf service centres bring diagnostic-tool experience across European, Japanese and Korean brands. Working as an employee in a workshop is not regulated, so the experience-based route applies; the master craftsman requirement concerns who runs the business, not who turns the spanner.
Roles We Deploy
Why German Workshops Recruit From India
- Dealer-trained Indian mechanics already work with the global platforms of brands sold in Germany
- Gulf service centres expose technicians to high throughput and strict job-card discipline
- Workshops can test candidates on fault-finding tasks by video before any visa filing
- The experience-based route avoids a recognition queue for workshop employees
- High-voltage qualification after arrival opens EV work and a clear pay step, which supports retention
From Service Bay to Signed Contract
Brands serviced, diagnostic systems, EV share and the applicable Kfz-Handwerk wage grid are confirmed.
Fault-finding, electrical measurement and mechanical tasks in India, recorded for your workshop manager.
Two-year qualification such as ITI Mechanic Motor Vehicle plus two years’ experience, with BA pre-approval.
Safety induction, high-voltage course at the required level and familiarisation with your systems.
Pay, Conditions & Timeline
Automotive technicians in German workshops typically earn roughly €2,800–3,600 gross per month, with diagnostics specialists and high-voltage qualified technicians at the upper end. Where the workshop is not bound by the Kfz-Handwerk agreement, the experience-route salary floor applies to the visa.
Most workshop hires arrive within three to five months of the first brief. The high-voltage course is a modest employer cost and the main post-arrival investment; German at A2 within the first year helps with customer-facing service work.
Figures are indicative market ranges and not a quotation; the signed service agreement governs. See our Terms & Conditions.
Employer FAQs
Does an Indian ITI motor mechanic certificate qualify?
The experience-based route asks for Indian vocational training lasting two years or more, recognised by the Indian state. ITI Mechanic Motor Vehicle is normally a two-year trade; some related ITI trades are shorter, so we check the duration on each certificate before filing.
Can Indian technicians work on electric vehicles?
After the appropriate high-voltage training, yes. Without it they may work on conventional systems and on EVs only in ways that do not involve the high-voltage system. We schedule the course in the first months.
Do mechanics need a German driving licence?
For road tests and vehicle moves on public roads, a valid licence is needed. An Indian licence works for a limited period after moving; after that the German theory and practical tests are required.
Do they need a master craftsman qualification?
No. The Meister requirement applies to managing a workshop business. Employees work under the workshop’s qualified management.
