Cleaning is governed by its own generally binding collective agreement, which means wages and conditions are fixed and compliance is checked — raising the cost of improvising with casual labour.

Pay, Conditions & Timeline
Cleaning pay follows the generally binding sector agreement, above the national minimum and rising with the wage group; glass and façade cleaning and specialist industrial work sit in higher groups. Expect roughly €2,400–3,000 gross per month full-time, more with supplements.
Three to four months from manning plan to first shift; one-time employer investment €2,500–4,000 per worker.

Employer FAQs
Does the cleaning collective agreement apply to foreign workers?
Yes, in full. It is generally binding, so every worker on a German cleaning contract must be paid to its wage groups regardless of nationality. We scope to it before quoting.
Can you crew a hospital contract?
Yes — housekeeping staff with infection-control experience, briefed on German hygiene requirements before departure and formally instructed on arrival.
What German level do cleaners need?
A1–A2 is the practical level for instructions, chemical safety and site communication. Supervisors need B1. Employers commonly fund courses after arrival.
