Fabrication shops, machine builders, steel structure plants and pipeline contractors across Russia report welders as one of their hardest roles to fill. Expanded domestic production has raised demand at the same moment experienced local welders are retiring, and a single missing welding team can stall an entire assembly line or erection schedule.
India produces welders in volume through ITI programmes and Gulf fabrication yards, many with pipe and pressure-vessel experience. The Russian-specific step is attestation: welders on regulated work such as hazardous production facilities, pressure equipment or pipelines generally need certification under the national welding attestation system (NAKS). We plan that in Russia after arrival and select candidates who can pass it, rather than treating foreign certificates as a substitute.

From Procedure to Production Welding
Materials, thicknesses, processes and positions, plus whether NAKS attestation will be required for your work.
Your quota must cover the welding professions you will employ; the MVD permission and invitations follow it.
Test plates welded to your parameters, visually and where possible destructively checked, with results sent to your QA team.
Medical, fingerprinting and work permit, then NAKS attestation at an accredited centre where your work demands it.
Pay, Conditions & Timeline
Indicative bands: structural welders roughly RUB 90,000–150,000 gross per month, attested pipe welders on regulated work often RUB 130,000–200,000 or more, with large regional variation and overtime premiums on fabrication peaks.
Arrival usually follows quota approval by one to three months, plus a few weeks after arrival for attestation where it applies. Accommodation near the plant and transport to shifts are standard in offers that fill.

Employer FAQs
Are Indian welding certificates accepted in Russia?
Not as a replacement for Russian attestation on regulated work. They show competence and help selection; NAKS attestation is completed in Russia when your work requires it.
How do you test welders before we hire them?
Candidates weld test coupons in India to the process, material and position you specify. Results are photographed and documented, and failed coupons are not shortlisted.
Can welders move between our plants in different regions?
Only within the scope of their permit. A Russian work permit is tied to the region named on it, so multi-region employers plan permits by site from the start.
What is the minimum batch size?
We deploy from five welders upwards. Smaller first batches suit employers who want to see attestation results before scaling.
